Survival-Cira-
after antibiotic treatment injection, September 6th 2005.
can someone Help this poor Dog “Cira”, he is a victim of street shooting.
Cira survived with help of one kind, young man, who gave him shelter after surviving what his female friend “Zujka’ did not!
“Zujka” died from gun wounds on the scene (September 3. 2005. Between 10-11 pm, on the corner of streets “Blaze Jovanovica” and “Matice srpske” in Mirjevo/ part of Belgrade)
By the time EI17’s investigation team came on crime scene, Zujka’s dead body was “disposed”
investigation is in process, “EI17” will give brief report about this case on requests.

Important Notes:
Both dogs were sterilized and vaccinated and under protection of “European Initiative 17” organization. Both Dogs are small and did not represent any threat to citizens.
“EI 17” will file a complaint, but as past situations proved -this is uglier than “wild, wild west” (like way back in 1920.). Who and why is behind this anarchy? Is this acceptable behavior for Belgrade officials? Is Belgrade still in war?
Your Help/Action:
A Dog “Cira” spent many years in Mirjevo - and his right to be on street no one can take, he is innocent- yet he suffered so badly now and before ( his eye have a huge cist due to a prior attack on him- he was kicked in head)!
We will do everything to save "Cira" , for now "EI17" have paid for antibiotic injection, first treatment, and scanning- now we are waiting 4 full Vet report- what to do with this bullet that is stuck in his head- first Vet expression was not to touch a bullet… Poor "Cira" have that huge cist in his eye also, so we are questioning options for eye operation.
"Cira" will also need permanent shelter and care; he can't continue to live on street after such a big injury.

EI 17 will save "Cira", but due to the waste majority of similar cases your voice and help is needed.
Please Help "Cira" and send your protest letter to Belgrade city officials

“European Initiative 17” has sent a report to Belgrade MEDIA, but press coverage regarding this case was NOT made!
This is what “EI17” sent to press:
Belgrade, September 04. 2005.
Honorable Journalists,
We are notifying the public and the media that last night a street shooting again took place on Belgrade’s streets.
On September 03, 2005 at the corner of the streets "Blaze Jovanovica" and "Matice srpske" in the Mirjevo neighborhood, unknown persons from a moving car shot two street dogs. Both were sterilized and vaccinated and under protection of the organization "European Initiative 17".
The female named "Zujka" was sterilized in the "Center for Mixed Breed Dogs" at the expense of the people that cared for her. She was shot and died on the scene. All that is left of this little dog are the stains of blood on the sidewalk, a reminder of what happened.
The other dog, a male named "Cira", survived with a bullet in his cheek. His life is stable now but he will need surgery. It is important to note that both dogs are small.
"EI17" will file a complaint, when we get "commitment confirmation".
This is a felony jeopardizing the communal peace according to the penal codes of the Republic of Serbia. We are openly asking how long certain people will continue to jeopardize the life of OTHER citizens? Where did those bandits came from? This is a town where certain "people" can poison innocent street animals, where kids can abuse and strangle cats and puppies, and grownups club animals just to express their anger. The chain of violence begins with animal abuse and can evolve into major social behavior disorders. Think of the effects seeing this lake of blood could have on normal kids. The amount of violence in the city is outrageous!
Social relationships are built on tolerance and respect …
Why is this so hard to understand?
What is wrong with us?
Sincerely,
European Initiative 17
